The apartment
55 square metres, thought through
Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sauna, a terrace hot tub and a kitchen that isn't an afterthought. Ground floor, sleeps four.
The space
Ground floor, 55 m², laid out so four people aren't in each other's way. The living room is built around a large sofa and a 65″ smart TV — useful on the evening when nobody wants to go out again.
Two bathrooms mean four people can get out of the door in the morning without negotiating. One of them opens onto the sauna.
Sleeping
Two bedrooms, two beds in each. Four people sleep here comfortably; nobody is on a sofa bed.
Every bed has its own duvet and pillow. In the closets there are spares in different warmths and firmnesses, because people are particular about pillows and there is no reason they shouldn't be.
Bed linen and towels come with every booking, so there is nothing to bring.
Sauna and hot tub
The sauna is yours alone, in the apartment, and heats in about 45–60 minutes depending on the temperature you set.
The hot tub sits on the private terrace and is kept at 37 °C the whole time, so there is nothing to switch on and nothing to wait for. It's emptied, cleaned and disinfected between guests. A screen along the side of the terrace keeps it private. Shower first, open the lid, get in.
On a clear night, the lights are worth turning off.
The kitchen
This is the part most rentals get wrong, so it's the part we were most stubborn about.
Kitchenware for eight people: four sizes of plate each, Iittala Teema and Piano, Riedel glasses for red, white and sparkling, Fiskars knives that are actually sharp, pots in three sizes, two frying pans, and the small things you only notice when they're missing — a peeler, a sieve, a corkscrew, a cheese slicer, a kitchen scale.
Oven, microwave, induction hob, coffee maker, fridge-freezer and an integrated dishwasher. Everything is dishwasher safe. There are children's sets too, Moomin ones.

The practical side
Utility room
Washing machine, tumble dryer and a drying cabinet in their own room. Ski gear is dry by morning — the difference between a good second day and a miserable one.
Ski storage
A lockable cabinet in the outdoor equipment store downstairs, next to the Glacier Express lower station. Skis stay where they're used.
Two ski passes
Two passes for the Levi lifts are included with every booking, for the length of your stay. Passes for the rest of the group are sold at the ticket office by the slope.
Ski maintenance room
A shared waxing and maintenance room in the garage, free to use.
Parking and EV charging
One reserved space (C2) in the heated garage under the building, with a charger for electric and hybrid cars. Charging works with the PlugIt app or an RFID tag. More parking at the front-slope car park.
Gym
The building's gym is free for guests and has lockable cabinets — handy on the last day, when you've checked out but the lifts are still running.
Air conditioning
Cooling for the bright summer nights and the ruska weeks, when the sun barely sets and the apartment would otherwise hold the heat.
Wi-Fi and TV
Fast wireless internet throughout, and a 65″ smart TV. Working a day from Levi is genuinely no problem.
House rules, briefly
- Four guests maximum.
- No smoking indoors.
- No pets, unless agreed separately. (This doesn't make the apartment allergen-free.)
- Quiet between 22:00 and 07:00 — there are neighbours.
- Check-out by 11:00.
