Getting here

Kittilä airport is about fifteen minutes away by car. Parking is in the heated garage below the building, space C2, which has a charger for electric and hybrid cars — the charger needs the PlugIt app or an RFID tag. There is additional parking at the front-slope car park.

Arriving and leaving
Check-in is self-service. The apartment door has a code lock, and we send you the code before you arrive — there's no reception and nothing to collect. The building doors are electronic too and open with the same code. They lock again by themselves; from the inside you can always get out by pressing the handle.
The balcony door is opened by turning the lock lever, and locked by turning it back to horizontal. Please check it before you leave the apartment.
Check-in and check-out
Check-in is from 17:00. Check-out is by 11:00. There are no keys to hand back — just pull the door shut behind you and make sure it has locked.
Before you go:
- Take rubbish down to the waste room in the basement
- Collect bottles and cans in one place
- Put furniture back where you found it
- Wash the dishes — you can leave the dishwasher running
- Empty your ski storage cabinet
Final cleaning comes with every booking. The list above is good manners, not cleaning — we take care of the rest.
Please keep things quiet between 22:00 and 07:00. There are people living either side.
Sauna
Before switching on, check that nothing is near the stove and nothing flammable is in the room. Press the power button, close the door, and give it 45–60 minutes depending on the temperature you've set. The panel shows the current temperature and the time remaining; both can be adjusted.
Please use a seat cover. Don't put anything on the stove and don't dry clothes in the sauna. Switch it off with the same power button when you're done.
Hot tub
The tub is always warm, so there's nothing to prepare. Open the lid, turn on the jets and the lights if you want them, shower, and step in using the steps. The water is kept at 37 °C and is chlorinated between guests; the temperature is fixed.

- No soap or shampoo in the tub — it foams and damages the filters
- No food or drink in the tub, for the same reason
- Keep an eye on children
- Tell us straight away if something falls in or breaks — WhatsApp is quickest
- Cover the tub when you're not using it
Cleaning and water changes caused by misuse may be charged to the booking.
Kitchen and appliances
Dishwasher
It's integrated into the cabinets, to the right of the fridge.
- Scrape the plates and load so the spray arms turn freely
- Use a tablet in the detergent compartment — never liquid washing-up liquid
- Open the water supply with the small lever behind the kitchen tap, and close it again when the programme finishes
- Press the power button, choose a programme (ExtraPower is the one we'd use) and close the door to start
- A red light on the floor means it's running; green means it's done, and the door opens by itself
If it beeps after starting, the water valve is still closed. Open it and restart.
Cooker hood and ventilation
Ventilation is controlled from the cooker hood. Indicator B lit is normal — leave it there during your stay. Indicator A means half power; press button 1 to return to normal.
When cooking, press the cooking-mode button (2) and pull the hood open. Button 1 selects boost (indicator C), which stops after 60 minutes. Cooking mode runs for 30, 60 or 120 minutes depending on how many indicator lights (D) are showing. Button 3 is the light.
Please use the hood when you cook. The apartment has an automatic fire alarm and sprinkler system, a false alarm brings the fire brigade, and the cost of that falls on the booking.
Temperature
Adjust it on the room controller with the up and down buttons. The display shows the target and the current temperature, and the brightness can be adjusted. The floor heating is slow — change it early and give it time.
Storage, laundry and the gym
Your lockable outdoor equipment cabinet is in the store downstairs, next to the Glacier Express lower station. Please empty it before you leave.
There's a ski waxing and maintenance room in the garage, free for anyone in the building to use.
The utility room in the apartment has a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a drying cabinet. The building's gym is free for you, and has lockable cabinets — useful on your last day if you're skiing after check-out.
Beds and linen
The apartment sleeps four. Bed linen and towels come with every booking. Each bed has a duvet and a pillow, and there are spares in different warmths and firmnesses in the closets. Fitted sheets and duvet covers are always used, and every pillow needs a case.
Pets and smoking
No pets, unless we've agreed otherwise — and please note the rule doesn't guarantee the apartment suits people with allergies. No smoking indoors. Outside, keep clear of other people and take your ends with you. Smoking inside or an undeclared pet means the extra cleaning is charged to the booking.
Safety
The apartment has an automatic fire alarm and extinguishing system. Don't tamper with the detectors or the sprinkler heads, and avoid anything that makes smoke indoors.

Tell us while you're here rather than afterwards. Most things can be fixed the same day, and we'd much rather know.
